OJ Simpson could be released from prison as early as Sunday

O.J. Simpson will soon be heading home but where is home going to

O.J. Simpson has been released on parole after nine years in a Nevada jail.

After leaving Lovelock, prison officials will bring Simpson to the High Desert Prison near Indian Springs before heading to the Division of Probation and Parole in Las Vegas.

He could be seen responding "OK" as he left through an open door, wearing a baseball cap, denim jacket, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Upon his release, Simpson will have to serve five years of parole supervision.

Simpson was looking forward to reuniting with his family, eating a steak and some seafood and moving back to Florida, LaVergne said recently. "We will continue pursuing the now $60 million judgment awarded to our family after the [civil trial] jury found that Simpson willfully and wrongfully caused the deaths of Ron and Nicole, as well as remain dedicated in our commitment to domestic violence awareness, victim advocacy and judicial reform". But Bondi's so pissed off by his plans to move with family in Florida, that she sent a letter to the State Department of Corrections, basically begging them to deny O.J.'s request. It was not immediately known who picked Simpson up or where he was heading after being freed.

Simpson spent nine years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping after a 2008 incident with memorabilia dealers.

Attorney Malcolm LaVergne didn't specify where the former sports and movie star would live, although Tom Scotto, a close friend who lives in Naples, Florida, has offered his home.

But if major networks aren't willing to pay for the interview, Simpson's acquaintance said never-before-seen photos and footage of OJ "could be a major deal" for popular USA shows like Good Morning America and Today. He has indicated that he wants to move to Florida, but that state's attorney general, Pam Bondi, said in a letter Friday that he is unwelcome there.

That state parole board set Sunday, October 1, as the date the disgraced star became eligible for release, according to the Associated Press.

In the video and the picture, the former National Football League star and actor walked out of the prison by himself, wearing a gray baseball cap, blue jacket and white sneaker.

"Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal", she said.

Simpson, 70, was granted release in a parole hearing in July.

Legal analysts say that none of Simpson's pension income can be taken away to pay off the hefty multi-million dollar civil ruling against him.
