China experts say 3.4-quake hits North Korea in 'suspected explosion'

China urges North Korea not to go further in a 'dangerous direction'

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also said it would be pointless to start another round of dialogue after North Korea carried out its sixth nuclear test and test-fired missiles over Japan.

The administration said in a statement on its website that the quake, which occurred around 4.29pm, was recorded a depth of zero kilometers.

USGS put the epicentre of the quake 22 km (14 miles) east-northeast of Sungjibaegam, North Korea, near the country's main nuclear test site.

On Friday, Russia urged "hot heads" to calm down as the United States admitted it felt "challenged" by North Korea's warning that it could test a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific.

The U.S. Geological Survey and Japan's Meteorological Agency both detected the tremor but said they could not judge the cause.

And it's possible that North Korea is able to undermine them.

Ri said Trump himself was on a "suicide mission" after the USA president had said Kim was on such a mission.

Likewise, China's Earthquake Networks Center said an analysis by the seismic service found that the quake "is a natural one", Xinhua, China's official news agency, reported.

After a week in which through tweets and a speech before the United Nations General Assembly, Trump introduced the derogatory nickname "Rocket Man" for Kim into worldwide news coverage and left open his prerogative to "totally destroy" North Korea, the president gave no ground on Friday in his public standoff with his adversary's leader.

The Week 4 Coaches' Poll Top 25 Is Out
Alabama remained No. 1 in the poll, followed by Clemson , Oklahoma, Penn State and USC in that order. LSU barely hung on to the final spot in the rankings after an embarrassing home blowout.

"It would also send a disturbing signal to the US and the global community that North Korea had now "arrived" as a full-fledged nuclear weapon state".

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has lashed out as world leaders have tightened the screws on his regime in Pyongyang over its nuclear programme and repeated missile tests.

Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho spoke to reporters in NY during the UN General Assembly shortly after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made an unprecedented televised statement, accusing Trump of being "mentally deranged".

North Korea's state media issued a statement Saturday from the National Peace Committee of Korea describing Trump as "wicked" and "a rabid dog".

Mr Trump said: "We can't have madmen out there shooting rockets all over the place", adding: "Rocket Man should have been handled a long time ago".

Monitoring groups estimate that the nuclear test conducted in North Korea earlier this month had a yield of 250 kilotons, which is 16 times the size of the United States bomb that destroyed Hiroshima in 1945. "Negotiation is the only way out and deserves every effort", Wang told the UN General Assembly. "We have developed strong allies and strong alliances internationally".

North Korea has said it intends to build a missile capable of striking all parts of the United States with a nuclear bomb.

A ban on textile imports from the North will go into effect immediately, the statement said.

Saturday's seismic activity came on the same day China announced it would limit trade with the North, reducing its fuel exports to its neighbor and banning all textile imports.
